Gloriana live from Covent Garden

The latest live broadcast from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, is being shown in thirteen cinemas throughout Scotland - Opera Scotland believes this is a record number.  Britten's controversial opera stars a number of singers well known to Scottish audiences. Susan Bullock is Queen Elizabeth I of England; Toby Spence Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex; Kate Royal Penelope, Lady Rich; Clive Bayley Sir Walter Raleigh.   Other cast members include Nadine Livingstone as the Lady in Waiting and Michel de Souza as the City Crier.  The director is Richard Jones and the conductor Paul Daniel.  Check out your nearest screening here.
