RaucousRossini, a new company, takes the stage in Scotland in July. Conceived by Max Fane, the aim is to give first class dramatic performance opportunities for young singers and players who have trained in Scotland.
In particular, artists will have the chance to engage in the Italian style, idiom and drama. Two performances are planned for Scotland - in Glasgow and Kippen - then one in England and four in Italy.
All five one-act operas by Rossini are in their company's sights. Furthermore this year's, L'inganno felice, may never before have been performed in Scotland.
In any case, we are offered a chance to hear it.
