Programme Note
A woman is walking by a lake with her young son and her sister. Everything seems idyllic; dragonflies are dancing over the water and the flowers are in bloom. But the woman is haunted by the memory of a horrific experience from her past, which threatens her relationships with those she loves in the present -her child and her sister. As her memories intensify, the woman's story takes on a mythical aspect and she becomes caught up in a surreal transformation which leads to a difficult farewell and, ultimately, her release from pain.
