A co-production between Scottish Opera and Music Theatre Wales, first performed in a double bill with Ghost Patrol by composer Stuart MacRae and librettist Louise Welsh.

Based on a short story by Thomas Hardy, this concerns a closed door that sparks an obsession so strong that the boundaries between reality and fantasy begin to blur.

Poet David Harsent's credentials as a librettist could hardly be stronger, having provided the texts for both Gawain and The Minotaur by Harrison Birtwistle.
