This Glasgow-based Society (remembered by some as the Drawing Room Opera Society) was influential during the gestation and infant years of Scottish Opera. Amongst the productions was Don Pasquale.
It flourished between, we think, 1955 and 1965. In 1967 there were performances of The Italian Girl in Algiers, which took place 22-25 February. The conductor was Michael Tilmouth, the producer Margaret Eadie.
We look forward to obtaining sight of more documents. Can any of our readers assist?
