Born Edinburgh.

Scottish mezzo-soprano.

Emma Kerr completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training in London, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating with distinction.She then attended the opera course at the Guildhall before joining Scottish Opera as their Robertson Trust Scholarship Emerging Artist for 2016/17. Parts at GSMD included Cristina in the UK premiere of Donizetti's I pazzi per progetto.

Appearances with Scottish Opera include Dorabella Così fan tutte, 2nd Wood Nymph Rusalka, Peep-Bo The Mikado and Frau Grubach/Washerwoman The Trial. She also sang on the 2017 Opera Highlights tour. Other projects included Scottish Opera's Unwrapped (free extract) programmes as Cherubino and Ariodante and their Dementia Friendly performances (Cherubino).

 In the Barbican Pit Theatre she created Nurse Annie Drummond in the world premiere of Unknown Doors (Iain Burnside). She also appeared as Prue in the stage premiere of Malcolm Arnold's The Dancing Master. Other credits include British Youth Opera (Ninetta The Little Green Swallow by Jonathan Dove) and London Schools Symphony Orchestra (Chair/Cat/Squirrel L'enfant et les sortilèges). She worked for summer 2016 as a Jerwood Young Artist at Glyndebourne, making her debut as the Shepherd in L'enfant et les sortilèges.
