Myer Fredman studied at Dartington before joining the music staff at Glyndebourne, when he assisted Vittorio Gui and John Pritchard. He was Principal Conductor of Glyndebourne Touring Opera from 1968 to 1974, at which point he moved to Australia. For the rest of his career he worked with Opera of South Australia in Melbourne and at the Adelaide Festival, then in Sydney with Opera Australia. He was also an importan teacher.
