English soprano.
Sophie Gallagher was head chorister at both Salisbury Cathedral and Wells Cathedral. She then trained in London at the Royal College of Music under David Rendall and Christopher Glynn.
Operatic appearances in Britain include the Buxton Festival (First Witch Dido and Aeneas under Harry Bicket); Ryedale Festival and Lammermuir Festival (Oberto Alcina); and Dartington (First Witch).
She worked in Prague in the Summer Nights Young Artists Programme (Gretel, First Spirit Die Zauberflöte). At the Maggio Musicale in Florence she sang Emmie Albert Herring.
She has also had an extensive concert career.
