English poet and librettist.
Harry Acworth spent most of his career in the Indian Civil Service. During his years in India he developed the hobby of collecting local folktales, editing them for publication. On retirement, he lived in Malvern, Worcestershire, becoming acquainted with Elgar. He adapted Longfellow's verses for Elgar's early cantata Scenes from the Saga of King Olaf.
