American mezzo-soprano.
Lea Shaw began her studies in Glasgow at RCS, where she gained both Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. She also completed her Masters of Opera at the Alexander Gibson Opera School (RCS).
As well as several performances as a student, she joined the Edinburgh Players Opera Group for their concert performances of Elektra (Third Maid) and Salome (Page and Slave).
She did chorus work at the St Magnus Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. At the Edinburgh Festival of 2021 she appeared at a public Master Class with Thomas Quasthoff.
She joined Scottish Opera as an Emerging Artist 2021/22, working in the chorus and on the 2021 Highlights tour of the Highlands and Islands. Her principal roles with the company include Mozart (Zerlina); Stravinsky (Neighbour Mavra); Britten (Hermia).
