Scottish mezzo-soprano.

Katherine Aitken trained in London at the Royal College of Music before an MA and Advanced Diploma in Opera at the Royal Academy of Music.

Operatic work in Britain includes Clonter (Siebel); Barber Opera (Caligola in Porpora's Agrippina); ETO (Cherubino).

She is under contract at the Opéra de Lyon and will appear with the company at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival as Tisbe La cenerentola. With the Lyon Studio she has sung L'enfant L'Enfant et les Sortilèges, Valletto and Fortuna L'incoronazione di Poppea. With the main Lyon company roles include Pippetti (Donizetti's Viva la mamma!) as well as Tisbe.
