Fanny Empacher Suggest updates

German soprano.

Fanny was born in Stuttgart, Germany, where she received violin, piano and singing lessons. She continued her musical education at the State School for Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, where she studied violin and singing with a focus on choral and vocal ensemble music. She completed her degree in Mathematics at the same time, which led her to St Andrews, where she is now pursuing a PhD studying wildlife population dynamics.

She now studies voice with Megan Read and continues her musical activities in many ways: she leads the Chamber Orchestra, has been a choral scholar in St Salvator’s Chapel Choir, and takes part in various other chamber music groups.

A particular highlight of her St Andrews music career was leading the orchestra in Handel’s Semele last year; with Xerxes, Fanny is delighted to take on another of Handel’s operas from the stage this time.
