Achille Corsi had a successful career for over twenty years in major Italian houses. His debut in I Lombardi at the Teatro Carcano in Milan came in 1859, a few months before his visit to Britain. In 1860 he first appeared at La Scala. He continued to sing until 1882, then taught, with his students including his nephew, the successful lyric tenor Antonio Pini-Corsi.
