David Junghoon Kim Suggest updates

South Korean tenor.

David Junghoon Kim is a graduate of the Seoul National University. He is the winner of the Francisco Viñas, Voci Verdiane and Toulouse singing competitions.  Following his professional debut as Rodolfo La bohème, he joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House from 2015-17, singing several solo roles.

Appearances in the UK include ENO (Rodolfo La bohème, Rodolfo Luisa Miller);  WNO (Duke of Mantua). Royal Opera (Macduff, Leone L'Ange de Nisida, Italian Singer Der Rosenkavalier); Dorset Opera (Edgardo); Grange Park (Roméo).

Elsewhere he has worked in Prague (Rodolfo La bohème);  Zurich (Rodolfo, Macduff);  Stuttgart (Rodolfo); Santiago (Italian Singer); Cologne (Alfredo); Oslo (Verdi Requiem).

The RSNO's Verdi Requiem in 2020, originally planned for his Scottish debut,  was cancelled, or at least postponed, because of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.  His first appearance in Scotland was therefore Scottish Opera's Puccini Collection concert.
