English composer and arranger.
Sir Henry Bishop was a highly successful musician, and a prolific composer of tuneful melodies and songs, most famously 'Home, Sweet Home. However he was also responsible for making significant changes to operas from continental sources, especially Mozart, in an attempt to suit them to British taste.
