Scottish director.

After working as a director with Glasgow Grand Opera Society he joined the Carl Rosa in 1934 as a stage manager and also worked at Covent Garden during the last two international seasons before the war. After war service with the RAF he joined Sadler’s Wells Opera in 1946 as a staff producer, remaining with the company until he retired in 1969. Thereafter he worked with Gemini Opera.
