Iain Cuthbertson was a leading Scottish theatrical personality over many decades, both as actor and director.  He was extremely tall, so well able to dominate the stage. He was equally adept at comic and serious work, switching with ease from broad-Scots to standard English, with an excellent record in the classics and a long list of theatrical and TV credits.

For Ariadne he delivered the Major-Domo's every line in booming, contemptuous and beautifully-timed 'refained' Scots, bringing the house down with ease.
