Welsh tenor.
Gwent Lewis's career, at least in Scotland, began with the Glyndebourne company's visit to the first Edinburgh Festival. He then joined Carl Rosa, singing a mixture of repertoire. Later he appeared in short character parts with Sadler's Wells. Like most singers of the time, he seems to have been happy to take any opportunity to try out with amateur companies major roles that he may have understudied at some stage.
