Australian soprano.

Her British debut occurred at Glyndebourne in 1952, when she sang the Lady-in-Waiting in a revival of Macbeth.

She spent several seasons in the Sadler's Wells company as a highly-admired lyric soprano, with a repertoire including First Lady and Nedda, as well as Countess Almaviva, Musetta and Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel.

By 1963 she was also singing mezzo roles, and when the company mounted its first staging of The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny in 1963, she was seen as Mrs Begbick. In 1964 she sang Ariadne, as a cover for Elizabeth Fretwell, and the following year sang Marcellina in the new Figaro production on tour.

She also appeared with Welsh National in 1962 and 1963, as Ortrud.

Her only recordings seem to be highlights made in 1961 of two Ivor Novello shows, which must for the present be considered very unfashionable - they are Glamorous Night and Careless Rapture.
