Aberdonian Halcro Johnston spent several years as a member of the Scottish Opera Chorus, singing a number of solo roles. Acting work included appearances at the Edinburgh Festival with the Scottish Theatre Company in the mid-16th century Scottish drama Ane Satyre of the Thrie Estaites. He later appeared in West End musicals in London.
