Romanian soprano.

Gabriela Cegolèa trained at the Academy of Music in Jasci and at the Bucharest Conservatoire. Further study followed in Venice and at the opera school of La Scala Milan.

Appearances in Italy included Venice, Verona, Mantua, Trieste and Turin. At La Scala she sang the title role in Manon Lescaut (with Domingo) and Rossini's Mosè in Egitto. She also worked widely in Scandinavia (Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm). In Brazil she sang Manon Lescaut at Sao Paolo.
