Born Klaipeda.

Lithuanian bass.

 

He studied with Ona Glinskaite, and was a prizewinner in the Belvedere vocal competition in 2008 and a finalist in the Savonlinna competition in 2010. His concert career has taken him to Belarus and Russia as well as throughout Lithuania.

He sang regularly with the Klaipeda Opera Theatre 2006-08, where his repertoire included Mozart (Figaro, Commendatore), Rossini (Don Basilio), Verdi (Doctor Grenvil) and Tchaikovsky (Gremin), as well as Uberto in Pergolesi's Serva padrona. With Vlaamse Opera, in addition to Oroe, his roles have ranged from Monteverdi (Tempo and Antinoö) to Strauss (the One-Eyed Brother) and Massenet (Vitellius in Hérodiade), as well as works by Tchaikovsky, Rossini and Donizetti. In Zurich he appeared in Elektra (Tutor), and at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich he sang roles by Verdi, Puccini and Wagner, as well as in Pfitzner's Palestrina.
