Mezzo-soprano.

Janet Hemsley joined the Carl Rosa Company in 1913, and sang a range of parts which showed her to be a recognised prospect.  The Magic Flute was a little-performed work that required many of the singers to perform even in short roles.  Her repertoire include Mozart (Third Boy); Balfe (Gipsy Queen);  Thomas (Frederick Mignon); Wallace (Lazarillo) and Gounod (Siébel).
