Yugoslav (Serbian) conductor and translator.
Krešimir Baranović spent many years with the Belgrade Opera as assistant to the great Oskar Danon, leading the performances of Khovanshchina during the 1962 Edinburgh Festival visit.
In 1955, when Decca took the opportunity to make recordings of seven of the company's Russian repertoire, Baranović took charge of four of them - by Mussorgsky (Boris Godunov, Khovanshchina), Tchaikovsky (Queen of Spades) and Rimsky-Korsakov (Snow Maiden).
