Franz Christian sang at the opera houses in Leipzig, Kiel and Bremen. In Britain he worked with Moody-Manners before moving on to Carl Rosa. Newspaper reports sometimes refer to him as Frank.

Not to be confused with modern German tenor Christian Franz.
