Nikolai Schukoff studied in Salzburg at the Mozarteum. He made his debut in 1996 at Gelsenkirchen as Alfredo and repeated the role for his UK debut, with Scottish Opera. Subsequent British appearances included two visits to the Edinburgh International Festival, as Erik Der fliegende Holländer (in concert) and as Florestan with the visiting Opéra de Lyon.
He performed the title role in Parsifal at Munich, Hamburg, Dresden, Berlin (Staatsoper), Lyon and Paris (Champs-Elysées).
Other appearances include Geneva (Sergei Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Max); Zurich (Don José); Paris Châtelet (Pollione); Paris Opéra National (Don Josê); Toulouse (Jim Mahoney); Munich (Dionysus The Bassarids, Eisenstein, Erik), Hamburg (Erik, Don José); Baden-Baden (Don José); Madrid (Steva); Barcelona (Pylade Iphigénie en Tauride); Vienna Theater an der Wien (Prologue/Quint Turn of the Screw, Foresto Attila); Gothenburg (Prince Rusalka).
He has sung in concert with many notable orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, London Philharmonic and Orchestre de Paris.
