Jennifer Johnston Suggest updates

English mezzo-soprano.

Jennifer Johnston is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and of the Royal College of Music in London. A BBC New Generation Artist 2011-2013, she is the recipient of numerous awards.

She has appeared in opera at the Salzburg Festival. Bayerische Staatsoper; Festival d'Aix en Provence, Opéra de Lille, Beijing Festival. Baltic Sea Festival, with Scottish Opera and Opera North. She will shortly make her debut at the Teatro alia Scala Milan, where she will create the role of Gaia in the world premiere of Giorgio Battistelli's C02

Concert work includes performances with many of the world's greatest orchestras in repertoire spanning the centuries. She made her BBC SSO debut in October 2011 - a studio recording for BBC Radio 3 of Elgar's Sea Pictures.
