Christopher Turner read Music at Hull University, primarily as a pianist. He continued his studies in Manchester at the Royal Northern College of Music, then in London at the National Opera Studio, where he was supported by the Scottish Opera Endowment Trust and The Friends of Covent Garden. He was also a Major Scholar of the Peter Moores Foundation, while between 2008 and 2011 he was a member of the Young Singers Programme at English National Opera.
Parts with Scottish Opera include Borsa Rigoletto, Pong Turandot, Dormont La scala di seta and Rodolfo La bohème.
He has appeared extensively at the Maggio Musicale in Florence, where his roles include works by Haydn (Ecclitico Il mondo della luna); Salieri (Artemidoro La grotto di Trofonio); Bellini (Tebaldo I Capuleti e i Montecchi); Britten (Albert Albert Herring) and Bernstein (Candide) .
