Born Bolton.

English baritone.

Craig Smith studied at Manchester University before training at RNCM, where awards included the Ricordi Prize for Opera.

He has performed Ford, Scarpia and Boccanegra with ETO, and has sung Michele Il tabarro and Tonio Pagliacci at Opera North. Roles with ENO include Nabucco and Germont. He sang at the Royal Opera House in Dialogues des Carmélites.

International appearances include Nabucco (Bucharest), Rigoletto (Tokyo), Les Dialogues des Carmélites (Vienna - Theater an der Wien), and Germont (St Margarethen Festival).

His recordings include Martin in Terra Pax (Swiss Radio), and Les Dialogues des Carmélites (Oehms Classics).
