Simon Lobelson studied music at the University of Sydney, training under John Pringle. He then studied in London, with Roderick Earle at the Royal College of Music.

In Australia he has worked with Pinchgut Opera, and in Britain with Opera Project and Haddo House. His Mozart repertoire includes Papageno, Figaro, Guglielmo and Masetto. He has also appeared as Macheath in The Beggar's Opera and Plunkett in Martha.
