Marc Callahan trained at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, the Ecole Normale de Musique and the Scola Cantorum.

Appearances in the United States include Santa Fe (Accuser in Madam Mao); Central City (Starveling, Moralès) and Dayton (Samuel Pirates of Penzance, Pish-Tush)

He has worked extensively in France - at Lyon (Bobinet, Starveling); Toulouse (Bobinet); Montpellier (Frédéric in Lakmé, Bass The Tempest)and Marseilles (Le Pedicure La Colombe). He has also sung with Les Arts Florissants (Artemidore in Armide) and Le Concert Spirituel (Le Carnaval in Le Carnaval et La Folie, Comus & Shepherd in King Arthur).

British appearances include ROH Linbury Studio and Aldeburgh Festival (The Cure & The Corridor); Opera North (Sid in Albert Herring); Opera Project (Don Giovanni) and OperaUpClose (Escamillo).
