English soprano.
Susannah Glanville studied at the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio.
She has appeared many times with Opera North, where her repertoire includes roles by Mozart (Fiordiligi); Verdi (title roles Luisa Miller and Giovanna d'Arco, Elisabetta Don Carlos and Alice Ford Falstaff); Bizet (Micaëla); Puccini (Tosca) and Strauss (Arabella). She has also sung Foreign Princess Rusalka, Lady Penelope Rich Gloriana, Donna Anna La dueña by Gerhard and Cressida Troilus and Cressida (Walton).
Appearances with other British companies include - English National Opera: Alice Ford, Micaëla, Pamina; Welsh National Opera: Lisa The Queen of Spades: Glyndebourne on Tour: Vitellia La clemenza di Tito; Opera Holland Park: Minnie La fanciulla del West; Royal Opera House: First Lady Die Zauberflöte; and Buxton Festival: title role Luisa Miller. She made her debut with Scottish Opera in 2012 as Tosca, returning in 2015 as Blanca Inés de Castro.
She has worked in France (Countess Le nozze di Figaro at Nice). In Italy she has sung several Britten roles - at Bari (Miss Jessel, Helena); Florence (Female Chorus) and Reggio Emilia (Helena). In the USA she has sung Blanche in André Previn's A Streetcar named Desire at San Francisco, Washington, Austin, and the Tanglewood Festival.
She appeared as Donna Elvira in a TV film of Don Giovanni with Sir Thomas Allen, and as Lady Penelope Rich in Phyllida l.loyd's film of Gloriana.
