Máire Flavin Suggest updates

Irish soprano.

Máire Flavin represented Ireland at BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2011, reaching the Song Prize Final. She is a graduate of the National Opera Studio and of the Opera course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and is an alumna of the Opera Theatre Company and Britten Pears Young Artist programmes. While at the Guildhall, she sang the title-role Cendrillon, Aurelio (L'assedio di Calais) and Clarina (La cambiale di matrimonio).

Operatic engagements include the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Paris (Dido in Dido and Aeneas); Mid-Wales Opera (Nancy Albert Herring); Welsh National Opera (Dorabella); Lyric Opera Ireland (Musetta); Regents Opera (Mercédès; and Clonter Opera (Tisbe).

Her appearances with Scottish Opera began in 2011 with Public Opinion (Orpheus in the Underworld). She returned in 2014 for the Opera Highlights tour and Tisbe.

Concert engagements include her Royal Albert Hall debut in Mahler's 8th Symphony. Mozart's Requiem in St David's Hall, Cardiff with Welsh National Opera, and Berlioz's Les nuits d'été with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin.
