German soprano.
Marlise Wendels studied at the Westphalian Hochschule für Musik and joined the Frankfurt Municipal Opera in 1952.
Her solo roles included Mozart (Blonde); Smetana (MaĆenka Bartered Bride); Offenbach (Antonia Tales of Hoffmann); Bizet (Micaëla); Leoncavallo (Nedda); Humperdinck (Gretel); Puccini (Musetta, Liù); Hindemith (Regina Mathis der Maler).
She appeared in operetta, as well as oratorio and lieder recitals.
