American conductor.
Cal Stewart Kellogg trained in Rome, at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia, winning the Gino Marinuzzi conducting competition. He conducted major Italian orchestras including those of the Teatro Comunale, Florence and La Fenice, Venice.
His debut with New York City Opera in 1976 was conducting Menotti's The Saint of Bleeker Street. He also worked with the opera companies at Santa Fe, New Orleans and Washington, where his repertoire included works by Rossini (Cenerentola), Donizetti (L'elisir d'amore) and Verdi (Rigoletto, Un ballo in maschera).
