Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari Suggest updates

Born Venice, 12 January 1876.

Died Venice, 21 January 1948.

Italian composer.

Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari, whose name shows his mixed background, with a German father and Italian mother, produced a delightful series of light comic operas, many derived from the Venetian plays of Goldoni. These had far greater success in Germany than in Italy. He also composed a couple of serious pieces, The Jewels of the Madonna, and the later Sly.
