Italian tenor of French parentage.

Emilio Naudin studied in Parma, then in Milan with Giacomo Panizza, making his debut in 1843 at Cremona in Pacini’s Saffo. He continued to sing roles from the bel canto school throughout his career.

His London debut in 1858 was at Drury Lane, and he went on to work later at both Her Majesty's and Covent Garden, where he sang the title role in the first London performances of Don Carlos in 1867. He appeared regularly at Covent Garden between 1863 and 1872.

He also had an extensive career in France and Russia, and his most notable French roles included Fra Diavolo and Masaniello . He created the role of Vasco da Gama in L’Africaine (at the Paris Opéra in 1865). Wagnerian roles included both Lohengrin and Tannhäuser.
