Born Vercelli.

Italian soprano.

Maddalena Bonifaccio studied singing in Milan, making her debut at the Teatro Nuovo there in 1964 in a staging of Don Giovanni.   Her La Scala debut followed quickly (Liù in Turandot).

She appeared in a wide range of opera houses and music festivals.  In Spain she sang in Madrid (Faust) and Barcelona (L'elisir d'amore).

Her only later appearance in Britain was her debut with the Royal Opera as Gilda.
