Augusto Frati made three visits to Scotland on tour, the first in 1955, with a stock Italian troupe, singing youthful roles, plus the Sacristan in Tosca.
Frati returned twice to the Edinburgh Festival, in 1963 as a member of the Naples San Carlo company, then in 1969 while attached to the Teatro Comunale of Florence.
