Aldo Ceccato Suggest updates

Italian conductor.

Aldo Ceccato studied piano and composition in Milan at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory.  He furthered his  studirs in Berlin, gaining a conducting diploma at the Hochschule fur Musik.

His professional career began when he won first prize in an Italian radio competition for young conductors in 1964.  He quickly appeared at La Scala, Milan,  the Teatro Comunale, Florence, and the San Carlo, Naples.  He also appeared at Chicago and Covent Garden.

His recordings include Donizetti (Maria Stuarda) and Verdi (La traviata),  both with Beverly Sills in the title role.
