James Slimings Suggest updates

Tenor, conductor and workshop leader.

James Slimings trained in vocal performance in Glasgow in the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he gained his MMus and acted as chorus master as well as directing RCS Voices.  He subsequently gained a PhD from the University of St Andrews.  As a tenor he appeared as soloist with several operatic and choral societies in Scotland.

He is a conductor and workshop leader for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, is Musical Director for Hertfordshire County Youth Choir and Director of Performance at All Saints Catholic College in London.

As a workshop leader and facilitator he works extensively with the Princes' Teaching Institute and the University of Cambridge.

As Education and Outreach Manager for the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival he prepared the Youth Choir for its inaugural concert at the October 2023 Festival.
