Romanian Baritone.
Cozmin Sime is a graduate of the Gheorge Dima Academy of Music, and has attended masterclasses with Ion Buzea, Tom Krause, Susanna Eken, Sally Burgess, John Norris, Barbara Bonney, Nelly Miricioiu and Alfred Brendel. He has won many major competitions for both song and opera in Romania and in France (Competition des Jeunes Soloistes at St Jean Cap Ferrat).
While a student Cozmin performed the roles of Count Almaviva, Guglielmo, Dandini and Belcore. His debut at the National Opera in Bucharest was as Marcello, and at the National Opera of Cluj-Napoca he sang the role of Nick Shadow in The Rake's Progress (Romanian premiere).
Cozmin made his international opera debut with the European Opera Centre as Claudio in Donizetti's Emilia di Liverpool, following which he was invited to the Mozart Academy at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. With English Touring Opera he has sung Rossini's Figaro and Edoardo in The Siege of Calais. Future plans include Guglielmo at the Dubrovnik Opera Festival.
