Valentin Vasilievich Kozhin.
Russian conductor.
He graduated from the Leningrad Conservatoire and then studied conducting under Gennadi Rozdestvensky at the Moscow Conservatoire.
He was head of the symphony orchestra of the Sverdlovsk Conservatoire from 1974 to 1977, and was then appointed to the post of Chief Conductor of the Maly Theatre in Leningrad, leading them on their Edinburgh Festival visit of 1986.
