American soprano.

Giulia Valda was, for several seasons, a leading performer with Mapleson, and, in retirement, a noted teacher. A few days after her Scottish performances as Norma, she appeared in London at the Crystal Palace, to create the leading role of Ione in George Fox's Nydia. She then made her debut at Covent Garden (as Oscar in Un ballo in maschera) before creating the title role in Emil Bach's Irmengarda, given its single performance on 8 December.
