Born Paris, 3 June 1832.
Died Paris, 24 October 1918.
French composer.
Charles Lecocq was one of the most consistently successful of French composers of the post-Offenbach generation.
His musical style is essentially frivolous and infectiously enjoyable.
La fille de Madame Angot was extremely popular from the beginning, and remained his most successful work.
