Helen Sherman Suggest updates

Australian mezzo soprano.

Helen Sherman studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.  Following her success in the 2007 Australian Singing Competition, she was awarded a scholarship to the International Artist Diploma scheme at RNCM (Manchester). In 2011, she represented Australia in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

On graduating, she immediately joined Grange Park Opera, performing Suzuki in Madam Butterfly. Other operatic roles include Hélène La Belle Hélène, Sesto La Clemenza di Tito, Cyrus Belshazzar and Varvara Kátya Kabanová. She made her first appearance with ETO as Aurelio in The Siege of Calais, and future plans include Donna Elvira in Mid Wales Opera's production of Don Giovanni.

Concert appearances have included recitals at the Wigmore Hall, City of London Festival, and Cheltenham Festival (which was relayed live by BBC Radio 3), She has recorded with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and for ABC Classic FM in Australia.
