Rebecca Afonwy-Jones Suggest updates

Rebecca Afonwy-Jones was a Scottish Opera Emerging Artist for 2009-11. From Mid Wales, she recently completed her studies at the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where she received the WCOM Allcard Award, MBF Sybil Tutton Award and an Independent Opera Scholarship.

Operatic engagements: Cherubino Le nozze di Figaro, Maria Akhrosimova War and Peace, Muse/Nicklausse Les contes d’Hoffmann, Composer Ariadne auf Naxos (Rostov on Don, Russia).
Engagements for 2009/10 included educational work for Scottish Opera’s Kátya Kabanová, Bruckner’s Mass in F minor in Glasgow’s City Halls with The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Kodály’s Missa Brevis at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder with RSAMD MusicLab. She also performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as a Welsh Singers Competition finalist.

During the Scottish Opera 2010/11 Season she appeared as Resi in Intermezzo and Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto, as well as covering the role of Maddalena in Rigoletto.
