'Piero Miranda Ferraro studied with Bononi at the Venice School of Music. In 1950 he took part in the Scala Contest for young lyrical singers, and won. In the same year he appeared for the first time at the Teatro Nuovo, Milan, in “La Boheme,” achieving a most pronounced success. During the 1951-52 opera season he sang at La Scala in “Osteria Portoghese" by Cherubini, amongst other operas.
He achieved his greatest success in London by his appearance in the role of Cavaradossi in "Tosca.” '
