Laura Sarti Suggest updates

Mezzo-soprano.

Laura Sarti sang with Scottish Opera during its first seven seasons.  She also appeared in Scotland with Sadler's Wells Opera and worked with Kent Opera.

Away from opera, she also appeared when singers were required by theatre companies.  One such occasion was the National Theatre production of The Merchant of  Venice,  directed by Jonathan Miller,  which toured to the King's Theatre, Edinburgh in the week commencing Monday, 3 May 1971.   The cast was led by Laurence Olivier (Shylock), and included Joan Plowright (Portia),  Anthony Nicholls (Antonio),  Frank Barrie (Bassanio),  Tom Georgeson (Lorenzo),  Derek Jacobi (Gratiano) and Jim Dale (Launcelot).
