Conductor.
Jeremy Silver is Music Director of Opera Brava and Assistant Head of Music at the National Opera School. In the mid-nineties he spent some time on the staff of Scottish Opera, both as repetiteur and Chorus Master.
British performances include Glyndebourne (Pelléas et Mélisande); ENO (Madama Butterfly); Raymond Gubbay (Aïda, Carmen); Opera Holland Park (La rondine, Lucia di Lammermoor, Le Nozze di Figaro) and Longborough (Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Carmen). With ETO he has conducted Donizetti's L'Assedio di Calais, with Il furioso al'isola di San Domingo planned for 2015.
He has worked extensively in South Africa, as principal conductor of Opera Africa (2004-7) and as guest with Cape Town Opera and all the country's major symphony orchestras. Other highlights include Metz (Les Huguenots, Tosca), Kuala Lumpur (Turandot); Yale (Die Fledermaus) and Mersin State Opera, Turkey (Così fan tutte, The Bartered Bride).
